Kathleen Shea is Program Associate, Public Initiatives for the Aspen Strategy Group. Kathleen joined The Aspen Institute from Meridian, where she previously was Diplomatic Engagement Associate. In this capacity, she served as the organization’s liaison to embassies in Washington, headed the signature reception series for new ambassadors, and associate-produced the annual Diplomacy Forum and Global Leadership Summit. Kathleen has also worked at the U.S. Department of State, Stepping Stones China, EastWest Institute, EBY, and Think Bilingual Austin. Originally from Austin, Texas, Kathleen graduated cum laude from New York University with a B.A. in International Relations. She speaks conversational Mandarin and basic Korean.
