Communications and Society Program
For over thirty-years, the overall goal of the Communications and Society Program was to promote integrated, thoughtful, values-based decision making in the fields of communications, media, and information policy.
The Communications and Society Program served as a global forum for leveraging the power of leaders and experts from business, government and the non-profit sector in the communications and information fields for the benefit of society. Its roundtable forums and other projects aimed to improve democratic societies and diverse organizations through innovative, multi-disciplinary, values-based policy-making. It promoted constructive inquiry and dialogue, and the development and dissemination of new models and options for informed and wise policy decisions. The C&S Program was led by Charlie Firestone, Executive Director.
The C&S Program is now part of the Aspen Digital program, headed by Vivian Schiller as Executive Director.
